Notes

When a rule, a list or a payer policy changes in a way that matters to a firm running credentialing for many practices, it gets a short note here. Each one is dated, links its sources, and is written for that date: a later change gets its own note. For reference material that is kept current, see the guides.

  1. CAQH is now DataSpring, and re-attestation has not changed

CAQH now calls itself DataSpring, powered by CAQH. Logins, profiles and the portal address are the same, and the portal is still free. The practical risk is a provider ignoring a re-attestation email from a name they do not recognize.

  2. The DEA telemedicine flexibilities end on December 31

The rule letting providers prescribe controlled substances by telemedicine with no in-person visit runs out at the end of the year. Its replacement is at the White House and nobody outside government has seen it. What to list across your client practices now.

  3. Oklahoma Marketplace directories now come from a CMS portal

Oklahoma Marketplace plans must build their directories from data providers verify in a single CMS portal, starting November 1. Providers or their delegates update changes within 30 days and verify everything every 90. CMS says it expects national directory rules for providers to follow.
